Being an Ideal Fresher

Being a fresher is like a boon. In many Bollywood movies you must have heard a dialogue,”मै जब नया था, तब तुम्हारे जैसे ही था, energetic and enthusiastic, लेकिन मुझे system ने बदल दिया.” This dialogue tells you the advantages of being a fresher.

Freshers may bring energy, enthusiasm, and creativity to day-to-day work.

I conduct training sessions on ‘Campus to Corporate’ for freshers. In this blog, I have noted some difficulties of being freshers and how to overcome them.

Being a good student and being a good professional are altogether different aspects. College life is good, but it will end someday for something good. Students are sometimes reluctant to view what the future is offering them.

Every student must instill professionalism in attitude, behavior, and thought to be a good professional through proper coaching, mentoring, and training.

Here are some tips for being an ideal fresher:

  • Good first impression

Anyone gets only few seconds to make the first positive impression. Be prepared, professional, and well-groomed.

  • Professional Communication

As a student, many exams are written, except viva. In professional life, oral communication and presentation skills are the key. It is always wise to develop communication skills like a professional when you are a student.

It helps to get a dream job.

  • Ask for help!

No one is perfect and knows everything, as knowledge is ever-evolving. No one can learn everything on their own. You must learn to ask for help if needed.

  • Develop a growth mindset.

A positive attitude is the key to success, as it helps you to have a growth mindset. Trust yourself and your capabilities to learn and progress, and adopt a growth mindset. Understand and analyze your strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats (SWOT analysis). Be clear about your goals and thoughts.

  • Be accountable and responsible.

I have observed that many students rely on their institutes and faculty for their knowledge. As a fresher, it is your accountability to gain knowledge and experience. Nobody is going to spoon-feed you. Proactively search for the right person and training for your growth. Consistently develop good habits as a professional.

  • Timing matters

Everyone gets an opportunity, but only one will grab it.

Timing in career matters as it matters in cricket.

Always be ready, and learn to take initiative. Instead of waiting for opportunities, learn to create opportunities. You are an architect of your career and life.

  • Develop skills

Organizations look for many skills in their employees. As a fresher, highlight those skills if you want to be selected.

They are Critical thinking, Problem-solving, Communication skills, Resilience, Consistency, Creativity, Emotional intelligence, Proactive, Decision making, Presentation skills, Discussion skills, Negotiation skills, Adaptability, and Coachable.

  • Professionalism

Being a fresher in the job market can be rewarding as you bring something unique to the organization. Companies are always ready to invest in freshers. Do ensure good returns to your employers.

To understand freshers properly, employers ask some customized interview questions during interviews:

  1. Tell me about yourself. (Can you express yourself positively?)
  2. Run me through your resume. (Are you aware and clear of what you have written in your resume)
  3. What are your hobbies? (To understand your personality in a personal way)
  4. Why should we hire you? (To understand your career objective)
  5. What do you know about this company? (Preparedness and Eye for detail)
  6. What inspires you in your career and life? (Role models)
  7. What kind of salary do you expect? (Your focus and negotiation skills)
  8. Where do you see yourself in five years? (Your goals)
  9. What are your greatest strengths and weaknesses (SWOT analysis)
  10. Do you have any questions for me? (Are you good in positive discussions)

Keep Learning!

Keep Growing!

Exams !!!

Picture1.jpg

As exam dates are approaching, the atmosphere in many houses changes drastically.

Students appearing for SSC, HSC, and final year examinations are the ones experiencing these changes.

Parents put all their efforts so that their children score good marks in exams. It is the same scenario we see each year during exams.

Even after all the efforts, some students, though intelligent, somehow fail to perform as per their potentials in exams.

The situation further worsens when parents and relatives, without knowing the exact reason, comment – Thoda aur padhai ki hoti toh aur acche marks aate. It further demoralizes the students.

I do conduct individual sessions as well as sessions for institutes on – Exam and stress management. It received a positive and overwhelming response from students and their parents as well as institutes.

The one common observation I had during my sessions is that students know about the implications if they don’t do good in exams, but they are unaware of the bright future they will have if they do well in exams.

Students should be made aware of the importance of exams in their life and career. It will help them to see exams as an opportunity and platform to prove their worth. Students should be made aware of other benefits of appearing in exams and doing well in them.

It is the responsibility of parents to believe in the abilities of their children. They should encourage students to succeed positively.

All the best in advance !!!

  • त्यातून शिस्तीची भावना विकसित होते;
  • चांगल्या सवयी आणि आचरण विकसित होतात जे आयुष्यात यशस्वी होण्यासाठी महत्त्वपूर्ण भूमिका बजावतात;
  • लोकांचा आदर करण्यास शिकवते;
  • एखाद्या व्यक्तीमध्ये नैतिक मूल्ये विकसित होतात;
  • वाईट सवयींवर नियंत्रण ठेवण्यास मदत करते;
  • स्वतःची सकारात्मक विचारसरणी विकसित करण्यास मदत करते;
  • सकारात्मक दृष्टीकोन विकसित करण्यास मदत करते;
  • व्यक्तिमत्त्व विकसित करण्यास मदत करते;
  • मानवी जीवनाची मूल्ये समजण्यास मदत करते;
  • स्वच्छतेचे आणि वेळेचे गुणधर्म शिकण्यास मदत करते;
  • भावनिक बुद्धिमत्ता विकसित करण्यास मदत करते;

Moral Education

Any education aims to make development in any individual, making him/her a better human being.

Though literacy rate and percentage have risen during recent times, the only focus is on making individual capable of reading and writing, rather than thinking positively.

Today’s education lacks the gist of moral education in it, leading to the degeneration of moral values in society.

With rapid urbanization and modernization, the moral values of people are degrading day by day. Unhealthy competition is making us strive more for money, success at any cost rather than being prosperous and happy.

Trust, integrity, love, brotherhood, and all other positive feelings are fading away with time. It is the moral values that teach us to share and make new friends at school, college, and life but today, children are taught not to trust anyone and make less of friends.

Now let’s see what moral education means; it is something that teaches you human values; it teaches you how to think morally and what is right and what is wrong.

  • Moral education means an ethical education that helps choose the right path in life. It comprises some basic principles such as truthfulness, honesty, charity, hospitality, tolerance, love, kindness, and sympathy.
  • Moral education makes one perfect.

Children are the foundation of our society and the future of our nation. For any country, its citizens must be morally equipped.

Moral education can be rendered from childhood at home, school, and college, by tutors, mentors, elders, and parents. It is our responsibility to teach morals to kids by practicing what is right in front of the kids.

It is an education for all at each stage of life.

Moral education has many advantages, such as:

  • It develops a sense of discipline;
  • It develops habits and manners;
  • It teaches to respect people;
  • It develops moral values in an individual;
  • It helps to have control over bad habits;
  • It helps us in positive thinking;
  • It helps to develop personality;
  • It helps to develop interpersonal skills;
  • It helps to understand the values of life;
  • It helps to learn the virtue of cleanliness and punctuality;
  • It helps to develop emotional intelligence;
  • It helps to be a good human being.

Looking at so many benefits of moral education in one’s life and success, it is the responsibility of every parent, teacher, school, college, educational professional, and institute to impart it to every student.

So friends, let’s come together to develop ourselves, our society, our country, and our world morally. ✍
