Career Path after SSC and HSC (Marathi)

Body Fat Loss

Fat loss refers to a decrease in body fat. It is a healthier outcome as it focuses on reducing the primary contributor to various health risks.

Why Fat Loss is Preferred:

  • Health Benefits: Reducing body fat, particularly visceral fat (around the organs), is associated with lower risks of chronic diseases like type 2 diabetes, heart disease, and certain cancers.
  • Improved Body Composition: Fat loss can lead to a more desirable body composition, with a higher percentage of lean body mass (muscle) and less fat.
  • Long-Term Health: Maintaining healthy body measurements and composition enhances overall health and well-being in the long run.

How to Focus on Fat Loss:

  • Calorie Deficit: Creating a calorie deficit (consuming fewer calories than you burn) is essential for fat loss.
  • Balanced Diet: Prioritize nutrient-rich foods, including protein, healthy fats, and complex carbohydrates.
  • Physical Activity: Combine regular cardio with strength training to burn calories and build muscle, which can further enhance fat loss.
  • Track body measurements and progress: Monitor body measurements and composition changes to assess progress and make necessary adjustments.

How to burn body fats:

  1. Avoid sugar intake,
  2. Avoid vegetable oil intake,
  3. Balanced diet,
  4. Be Active,
  5. Fitness regime that suits you,
  6. Focus on the body measurements and clothes fit more than reading a scale,
  7. Hang out with health-focused friends,
  8. Discuss with the right person.

In summary, fat loss is the more targeted and healthier goal, focusing on reducing the primary contributor to health risks and improving overall body composition. o health risks and improving overall body composition.

Fat loss v/s Weight Loss

Due to a hectic schedule, many tend to neglect their health. However, at some point, it becomes mandatory to take our fitness and diet seriously for health.

I have come across many individuals who work hard in the wrong direction. Instead of targeting their fats, they target their weight.

We have seen many people with adverse effects due to their weight loss regime.

Before going into details, first, understand our body composition:

Based on our fitness level, our weight comes from:

  • Muscle: 30-55% of body weight
  • Fat: 10-30% of body weight
  • Water: 10-25% of body weight
  • Bone: 15% of body weight
  • Organs and other tissues: 10-15% of body weight

Our muscles are about 30-55% of our body weight.

A pound of muscle will be about four times smaller than a pound of fat. A fit body has a low body fat percentage (10% to 15% for men and 15% to 20% for women).

Our fat percentage is the actual measurement of how fit and in which shape your body is. The amount of body fat can vary drastically from person to person.

Body fat burns fewer calories at rest than muscle does. One pound of muscle burns around six calories, and one pound of fat only burns about two calories.

Why do two individuals with the same weight and height look different???

img_20200419_2248271103764536.jpg

The difference is the fat percentage!

A person with a low body fat percentage and higher muscle mass will look fitter than others despite having the same weight.

There are some important points one must consider before a fitness and diet regime:

  • Two individuals with similar height can weigh the same but look completely different because one has lower body fat than the other;
  • The weighing scale can mislead you;
  • Weight loss = Muscle loss + Fat loss + Water loss
  • If you are losing fat, you will look slimmer at the same body weight by building muscle;
  • Fat loss = Reduction of stored body fat;
  • Track Body Fat. Get a fat body and track your body fat every two weeks;
  • Shoot Pictures. Compare with your previous pics.

Here are some effects on the body due to Fat loss and Weight loss:

Fat LossWeight Loss
Increased Fitness LevelDecreased Fitness Level
Increased Body StrengthDecreased Body strength
Reduction in body fat %Reduction in Muscle mass
Increased metabolismDecreased Metabolism
Hence, focus on losing fat! Then decide if you still need to lose weight.

We provide online and in-person coaching for fat loss. Our coaching sessions helped many to achieve their goals and desired fitness.

Why is emotional intelligence important for success?

Emotion is a complex experience of consciousness, bodily sensation, and behavior that reflects the personal significance of a thing, an event, or a state of affairs.

There are four emotions – happiness, sadness, fear, and anger.

Emotional intelligence (EI) or emotional quotient (EQ) is the ability to identify, assess, and control emotions.

It exhibits abilities such as:

  • Identifying emotions;
  • Evaluating how others feel;
  • Controlling emotions;
  • Using emotions to facilitate social communication;
  • Relating to others.

When someone exhibits low measures of EQ, it can be behaviorally visible –

  • Emotional outbursts,
  • Difficulty listening to others,
  • Becoming argumentative,
  • Blaming others,
  • Overly sensitive,
  • Difficulty maintaining relationships
  • Stonewalling.

EQ is a better indicator of success in the workplace and is used to identify leaders, good team players, and people who best work by themselves.

According to research, perseverance, self-control, and skill in getting along with others influences success. Individuals with strong leadership potential also tend to be more emotionally intelligent.

Workers with high EQ are better able to work in teams, adjust to change, and be flexible. As the workplace continuously evolves, making room for new technologies and innovations, these qualities may become increasingly important.

It accounts for 27 to 45 percent of job success as it enhances the following traits in you:

  • Self-awareness: It helps to understand strengths and weaknesses.
  • Self-regulation: A person with a high EQ can maturely reveal emotions and exercise restraint when needed.
  • Motivation: Emotionally intelligent people are self-motivated.
  • Empathy: A person who has compassion and an understanding of human nature that allows them to connect with other people on an emotional level.
  • People skills: Emotionally intelligent people can build rapport and trust quickly with others. They usually have respect for others around them.

We have conducted online and offline sessions on emotional intelligence for individuals and groups.

High EQ will get you through life.
